PORT 1: 10.1.2.42/255.255.0.0

PORT 4:10.1.122.1/255.255.0.0

a windows PC default gateway set to PORT 4 (10.1.122.1). but traceroute from PC to external host shows that gateway is PORT 1 (10.1.2.42)

why? any wrong setttings?

WINDOWS showing the MAC of PORT 1 AND PORT 4 are SAME

  • What are you trying to achieve with this network setup because I don't understand why you have two LAN interfaces on the same subnet (255.255.0.0).

What I suspect is happening is that the XG is receiving the ping on LAN 4 but when it replies it knows it has two routes to the workstation, through LAN1 and LAN4 and chooses the first one. So the replies come from LAN1 and that is why the traceroute shows the LAN1 IP.

I can't imagine why you would set things up this way, hence the question, what are you trying to achieve by having two LAN interfaces in the same subnet? I can't imagine any scenario where you would do this!
