Deploying Virtual XG Firewall - MTU larger than 1500 needed on switches connected to it?

Hello.

A client I work with is wanting to deploy Virtualized XG Firewall - their network admin had a good question I couldn't directly answer.  Namely if the infrastructure is going to be carrying VLAN tagged traffic in the virtual switch and trunked ports to actual physical switches whether they need MTU and frame sizes larger than 1500.

In my tests of XG Home when using it to secure my home infrastructure for a while, complete with VLANs and a virtual environment, the MTU did not need to be set higher than 1512 for any type of traffic with the XG or the switches.  However, I want to confirm whether this is 'properly' the case.

I could not find any "installation prerequisites" guides for network configuration so...
