No Internet Connection with NAS

Hi!

My setup of the firewall looks like following:

Port 1 is used for LAN (Printer, Mobile Phone, Printer, Laptop) with the interface IP 192.168.1.254/255.255.255.0 (DHCP enabled from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.19)

Port 2 is used for WAN with the interface IP 192.168.0.145/255.255.255.0

Port 3 is used for "DMZ" (NAS) with the interface IP 192.168.100.254/255.255.255.0 (DHCP enabled from 192.168.100.1 - 192.168.100.9)

 

I'm using two rules for the NAS Connection. Rule 1 is for the access from clients to the NAS

 

Rule Number 2 would be for the Internet connection

My problem is the following. When my NAS is behind Port 1 everything is working, Internet connection (including Plex Server) and LAN Connection. When my NAS is behing Port 3 only the LAN Connection (Webinterface, FTP, SMB) is working, Internet is not working and also not the Plex Server. I tried to check the Log Viewer, but I was not able to find or solve the problem. Can anybody help me with that?

    Hi,

    why have you added TCP and UDP to your firewall rules? Also looks  like you are using V18 EAP which would be a better forum to post in.

    Do you have logging enabled on all your rules? Which logviewer reports did you look at?

    I suspect the NAS is not being assigned a new IP address when moving between ports and is maintaining the connection through the first port.

    Hi Ian!

    I tried a little bit with different settings to bring my Nas to a internet connection. Yes, I'm using version 18 so this is the wrong forum?

    I used the Log Viewer where I can see the different rules and connections.

    The NAS is getting a IP Adress in both networks, over DHCP and static. I also can access the NAS with my Laptop, over SMB and with the browser.

    Hi,

    if you have a static IP address assignment for your NAS, that will cause some of your issues due to limitations of the XG DHCP server. You will need to delete the static assignment to continue testing. SMB will not work between networks from memory it is not a routable protocol.
