VoIP Bandwidth reservation Firewall Rules: Do we need both LAN-WAN and WAN-LAN firewall rules???

Hi specialists

I need to create a traffic shaping Firewall rule to ensure that enough bandwidth is reserved for VoIP

We have a VoIP PBX behind the firewall.

I created a LAN > WAN rule with a Traffic Shaping Policy that reserves 100KBps

My question: Do I also need to create a WAN > LAN policy with a Traffic Shaping Policy???

Thanks

Alexandre

  • Hi,

that will depend on if your PABX can receive calls without telling the exchange it is on line, if so yes you will need a setting for incomings traffic otherwise, no.
