anyone tried this with a microserver (G7)?

After being blocked by the fact that the current build requires 64 bit processor, I kicked everything off my N40L Microserver so I could use it. It has a nice 64 bit processor and a nice low power profile. Whether I boot from the previously verified USB stick or a CD, once the firmware loader starts up it doesn't see the keyboard. Note that I had to use the keyboard to adjust the bios so I know it is functional at the bios level. I have played around with a bunch of bios settings to no avail. It just sits there ignoring my 'y' entry. curiously, on a different pc it first asked me to hit 'escape' to boot, not so in this pc.

any suggestions?

  • I read the review for the N40L and from the review it works well as a 32bit box, but some of the test 64 bit software would not run. Other issues you are going to have is the CPU will be too slow, maxing at 1.5ghz. So, in summary I would suggest that the installation does not complete and you need a more modern CPU.
