Clientless Group requiring email seems a bit strange

I tried to save a clientless IP address only to fail becasue I did not provide an IP address. This seems very strange to me a most clientless devices won't be assigned an e-mail address eg AP10, fileserver etc etc.

  • Hello Ian,

We need the Email address to create a client-less address on the XG firewalls, Thank you for this feedback but there are certain instances where we create clientless users to actual end users and we may need to send the Quarantine Spam Digest to them, May be we should remove the Email as a mandatory parameter.

    Thanks,

  • I would agree that removing the requirement for email is a good direction. I like using clientless devices to add perspective to reports, but don't want any emails to a real user generated. (Think appliances, etc.)

Right now I have devices created with fake emails, and the quarantine digest disabled.
