Home licence expiry 9th December 2015, why?

I have been reviewing my latest build using the SF-OS GA version with a brand new home licence. The issue is the licence is shown as expiring on the 9th of December 2015, why when it was only issued a wek ago?

  • rfcat_vk Take a look at my thread about getting a thirty day license. With the link that I was provided I was able to successfully get a home license.

FYI it will make you download another copy before the e-mail is sent to you.

    Hope this helps
  • Hi,
thank you. I did that to get the home version for installation including the e-mail with the licence.

  • I have obtained my genuine home licence. Next challenge is change the licence from trial to home, anyone have any idea if this is possible? If so how?

  • Ian, In case you haven't already pieced together the answer ... licenses are now tied to serial numbers. There's no way to change the serial number on an installation, so you would need to install a new system using your home license, and restore your backup. The Free Trial license (www.sophos.com/.../next-gen-firewall.aspx) is a 30-day business use license whereas the XG Firewall Home license (www.sophos.com/.../free-tools.aspx) is a perpetual license for home use only. • Hi Paul,
    I understand your answer.

I have built the beta version with only minor brain strain on registering and synchronising.
The GA version is slightly different, it really is a three step process.
1/. you activate your licence which doesn't really do anything and synchronisation fails
2 and 3/. you activate your licence a second time some time later and you get a different window which then allows you to synchronise your licence.

A suggestion. You might like to get an independent person to review you initial page, why? There is mention of registration, activation and synchronisation, when in reality there is no activation.
