Hi Everyone, and welcome! this is an exciting week for us, as we are launching the Sophos XG Firewall! You may have known it as "Project Copernicus" before now.
XG Firewall is a brand new platform, built for security, performance, efficiency, and simplicity. This forum is provided for you to share with other Sophos users, as well as Sophos engineers, and product managers, regarding the new Sophos XG firewall. If you haven't seen much on it yet, here's a few key new features:
- Purpose-built user interface with interactive control center
- Policy Analysis monitors policy activity by type, and raises awareness of unused, disabled, changed and new policies right to the control center
- Unified policy model security rules to be managed on a single screen with powerful filtering and search options
- Policy Templates for common business applications like Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, and much more
- Custom IPS and Traffic Shapping (QoS) settings may be attached directly to any security rule for intuitive and deep control over network activity
- Layer-8 user identity awareness across all security rules
- Sophos Security Heartbeat connects Sophos endpoints to allow firewall and endpoints to share intelligence info, allowing smarter security decisions by both
- User Threat Quotient provides predictive analysis of users which may be at higher risk, and require further education, or more protective policies
- Configuration API allows deep integration with third party systems
- Discover Mode (TAP mode) for seamless visibility during trials and PoCs, without any disruption to network activity
- Full-featured centralized management with Sophos Firewall Manager available as a hardware, software, or virtual appliance
