Firewall Manager (SFM) on Azure

I'm looking to centrally manage multiple XG firewalls, but unfortunately the Sophos Cloud Firewall Manager is only available for Sophos partners. Alternative is using the SFM. Since I don't have any on-prem data centre to my disposal, I'd like to see if the the firewall manager can run in the cloud.

Does anyone have experience in uploading the VHD files to Azure and running the Firewall Manager on Azure?

kind regards,

JH

  • Hi JH,

Please send an email to the Sophos Public Cloud team at IaaS@sophos.com for information about deploying SFM on Azure to manage multiple Sophos XG firewalls.  One of us can provide you with the resources and a Q & A chat to help understand deployment and managing SFM on Azure.

  • Hi Byron,

I think we might need some guidance on this topic, since after a clean deployment of the template provided  it seems that its not possible to start the Nested VM:

Besides of removal of the public IP, we didnt changed any relevant configuration on the template:

    Start-VM : 'sfm-azure-01' failed to start.
Failed to start the virtual machine 'sfm-azure-01' because one of the Hyper-V components is not running.
'sfm-azure-01' failed to start. (Virtual machine ID xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxx)
The Virtual Machine Management Service failed to start the virtual machine 'sfm-azure-01' because one of the Hyper-V components is
not running (Virtual machine ID xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxx).
