Device Administrator missing

I have previously used both kaspersky and avast on android and they do similar things that sophos does. I wanted to try sophos so read all the info and the removal instructions if that became necessary. Now I have an HTC One SV presently running ICS but my friend has JB on his (I have yet to update). neither phone has the device administrator  setting on the phone. Believe me I checked everywhere in settings and it does not exist within the phone settings.

Does this get added after installation or is it within sophos own settings. Now when avast is installed they use the same thing and they use a seperate app and within the app settings is the device admin setting and NOT withing the phone settings.

Please can you address this by either elaborating wth correct advice on google play/pdf/forum but may 1stly explain on here. I don't want to go ahead with installing it if i end up having problems removing it.

  • Let me be more detailed about this SNL app that had bricked my tablet. During the password verifications and before I could enter in a recovery password, this SNL software skipped ahead claiming to be complete.
