SMC Server 2012 R2

Hi,

the installation guide reads that i am able to install SMC server on 2008 R2 and 2012. I would like to choose Server 2012 R2 but i can't find any information about this, can you guys help?

Well... is it supported to choose Server 2012 R2 as an OS or do i have to stick to 2008 R2 / 2012?

Hi Julian,
Sophos Mobile Control 3.6 was not officially tested with this 2012 version.
In general, the installation itself should work, but if you want to stay with the supported platforms you should use one of the Operating Systems listed in the release notes.

are there plans to test 3.6 with R2 or will this take place in the next version?
Maybe anyone has made any experience with this?

Hi Julian,
it is planned to support Windows Server 2012 R2 with the upcoming version of Sophos Mobile Control which is 4.0.
We plan to release this new version in Q2 this year.
