IOS MDM Bootstrap problems

Hello,

today I installed a fresh SMC 3.6.0.4. after installation I've created an administrator account, then added a customer.

Then i added our apn certificate.

If I now want to add a test ios device, the installation of the IOSMDMBootstrap aborted.
Unfortunately there is no error message.

I once tried to install a ios profile, here at least the smc demo profile, and it worked(via sms link).

Only the Bootstrap will not work and so the device is not manageable.

some details:

windows 2008 server

sql 2008 express

sm: Core: 3.6.0.5, GUI: 3.6.0.5

iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.3

iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3

Maybe someone can help me?

  • Hello,

I am also at this stage of clean install and yet when I do a SSP device reg it fails on IOSMDMBootstrap with Provisioning failed?

You mention about applying the cert to the service? I have a 3rd party cert for my smc.domain.com link and i've also got a APNs cert applied from Apple?

Where is this additional step you mention?

    Thanks in advance...

  • Hi Knowlhill,

I am not sure if that is the issue for your case, but have you uploaded the APNS certificate to the SMC server?

Please log in to the SMC consoele and on the left hand menu go to "System setup".
The "iOS settings" tab should be shown and there you have the possibility to upload the APNS certifciate.

This has to be done for every SMC customer you have created.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Stefan
