Deploy Sophos Mobile Control app over WiFi

I am currently running SMC 3.6.0.5.

Can you point me in the right direction to protect/manage SIM free devices (All android) over WiFi. I can obviously install the smc client from the Play Store but it requires the configuration file which is normally sent by SMS? Can the agent be sent to the GMail address as opposed to the non existent mobile number or can I download the client directly from the SMC server. I cannot see how to do this.

    Hi Ant1,

    you have two possibilities for WiFi only devices.

    1. The users connect to the Self Service Portal (SSP) from their devices and download the client / enrollment profile directly to the device via the SSP.

    2. You send out the configuration via an email. The email will contain a download link and all necessary steps.

    You can simply enter a "0" as phone number and add an email address to the device details.
    Then the configuration will be sent to the configured email address and the mail has to be opened on the device itself.

    For further information on the enrollment via email, please check the chapters 13 and 14.2 of the Mobile Control administrator guide.
