How to configure automatically Sophos Interceptx Mobile through Sophos Mobile

Hello, 

Is there a way to configure automatically (without user interaction) Sophos InterceptX Mobile when deployed by Sophos Mobile ?

Apparently when the app is automatically installed, I need to open it to have the "rules" applied.

Any other way maybe to activate the rules without human interaction ?

    Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum. 

    It is possible to automatically register the Sophos Intercept X Mobile app. This is done by sending an Intercept X Mobile policy from Sophos Central to the device in question. For the policy to be fully received and applied correctly, however, the application will need to be opened at least once. 

    It is generally best to leave the Intercept X Mobile application opened in the app switcher to ensure the protection features remain running. An additional app that works alongside the IXM application is "Security & Antivirus Guard" which can help to ensure the protection features remain running on your device.

    Thanks for your reply. What you replied, it is what I tested (do you confirm or  : 

    - Deploying Sophos InterceptX Mobile app through Sophos Mobile

    - Deploying the policy through Sophos Mobile

    But through this way, my user must open the app on its mobile device to have the policy applied.

    The "Security & Antivirus guard" seems not to exist for iOS, is it correct ? (only Android)

  • You are correct. It is not possible to fully enroll the Intercept X Mobile application without opening the application at least once. I was able to do some testing on an iOS device as well.

    I tried to perform the enrollment by keeping the Intercept X Mobile application open in the app switcher, but it did not report back correctly until the app was fully closed and re-opened after the Policy was applied from Sophos Central. 

    The Security & Antivirus guard app is only for Android, yes.

  • One more question, i saw in documentation there is few app keys, I found one to skip EULA, is threre any others ?

    I'm working also to integrate Sophos InterceptX Mobile on a third party EMM..if I have question, I will open an other thread ;)

  • you could try as the second to last task to set intercept x as a kiosk app so it will open, then the last task remove kiosk mode. needs testing.
