Adding MSI app for MDM managed Windows devices

Hello,

We've started deploying Sophos mobile to our Windows devices, specifically laptops with Windows 10 - and am looking to get some assistance with installing apps. The ability to setup apps to install via the Windows Store is fairly easy (although I'm having separate issues there) my question here is regarding the MSI files. In the process of adding an app, I'm able to obtain the ProductCode GUID and SHA-256 file hash without issue, however I'm unsure what exactly I should be linking to if the file I'm looking at isn't downloaded as an MSI. For example, the Google Chrome for Enterprise is downloaded from their website as a ZIP file, which we can then open and obtain the MSI inside, however there are some other files in that ZIP as well that we wouldn't want to be pushed down to each client (in this example, legacy installers, admx files, etc.) - Should I make the assumption that

1. Sophos is able to automatically search the ZIP file for an msi matching the GUID and file hash?

2. The app will need to be manually updated in Sophos each time an update to the link is made, or even if the application gets an update itself?

3. Alternatively is there somewhere I could upload the msi file to that will ensure a link that Sophos can use is created and will work with Sophos that doesn't expire?

Ideally it would be great if the application that I upload to Sophos knows that an update is available for that software but I understand that's likely impossible and would have more to do with what specific app we're looking at than Sophos itself.

Thank you,

James
