System update and certain apps only over wifi.

Hello,

We want to bring down our monthly data usage so we want to have the following things to be only allowed over wifi:

- Video streaming (youtube app etc)
- System updates
- App updates.

One would think you can configure this with a policy however, wherever I look i can't find how to configure this. Does anyone has any experience with doing this?

After al ittle more reasearch I found this. Why isn't this implemented for android?

(+) Cellular Data Restriction - Discussions - Sophos Mobile - Sophos Community

for iOS

the apps you want to restrict cellular data on need to be managed via SMC (so they need installing\managed via SMC)

you need to create an App Group containing the apps you don't want to use cellular data with.

then create an IOS policy for "Network usage rules"

add your App Group into the exception list, check the desired options and this will work to disable Data usage for the specified apps.
