Web control policy for Android Devices

Hello everyone,

We have a group of Android Devices which are currently managed by the Sophos Central Mobile console.

We wan't to apply web control for certain websites on those devices.

But when I'm not able to fiind any section where I can achive this when creating the policy.

I have another Sophos Central Admin console for testing purposes where I did found this feature, but I get there by selecting a "Mobile Threat Defense Policy" type:

What is exactly a Mobile Threat Defense Policy and why I can't see that option on our productive console? Is that the only policy type where I can achieve web control?

Thanks in advance...

  • Hi ,

Yes, you are right, the web control policy for Sophos mobile can be configured through the Mobile threat defense policy. refer to this documentation.

Can you confirm if you have tried creating a new policy? was it getting the same output as the like the 1st snapshot on this post?

It ocurred to me to check the Google Setup secion and Android Management mode is set to "Both Android Enterprise and device administrator".

Is there any addtional configuration I should check?
