Converting Lagacy Devices to Google Enterprise

Good day,
im in a problematic position at the moment, we are using Sophos Mobile with the deviceadministrator. Since Android 11, the Device administrator isnt avalible anymore and we had to switch to the managed Google Account / Enterprise. Im afraid that with updates or over time the old devices run into problems since they still using the Device Administrator. Is there a way to convert Legacy Devices to Enterprise (managed Google Account)? It must be done remotly because im unable to get all devices to my office.

I hope someone knows a answer.....
Thanks in advance

Lukas

  • i dont want to move email accounts. All devices have no mail Accounts configured. I want to remotly remove the lagacy administration and add the enterprise ruleset.

My problem is that when a device is initially configured with Lagacy, you cant add Enterprise rulesets to it.

  • Hi,

There’s no option to convert the legacy devices directly to Google Enterprise since it’ll be a different management mode. They’ll have to re-enroll individual devices using the new google enterprise policy. The enrolment method and options depend on whether the device will be in ‘Full Device Management’ or ‘Work Profile’ mode. Enrolling in Android Enterprise Full Device ManagementEnrolling a device in Android Enterprise Full Device Management requires a new or wiped device. Customers can move as part of the device lifecycle refresh or by factory resetting existing devices. Note: A factory reset can be done remotely via the ‘Wipe’ command in Sophos MobileEnrolling in Android Enterprise Work ProfileEnrolling in Android Enterprise Work Profile does not require a factory reset, but it does require the existing ‘Device Admin’ management to be removed.· Locate device in the Sophos Mobile console – select Actions> Unenroll  · Delete the device (this avoids duplication when the device is re-enrolled) – select Actions> Delete Note: Now the Sophos Mobile Control app is still installed, but the device is no longer managed then proceed to re-enroll the device.
