As of 29th May 2019, Google has officially deprecated and disabled the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) services. This service was used by Sophos Mobile 8.5 or lower to trigger Android devices. Currently, the service is still running and the device can still be triggered. However, Google might disable this service in the near future without further notice. Therefore, customers should update their Sophos Mobile server and client to at least version 8.6 which uses the GCM replacement Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
