As Google will deprecate Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) by April 2019, it is necessary to switch to the new Firebase notification mechanism. Sophos Mobile server version 8.6 will fully support the Firebase notification mechanism and we recommend our customers to upgrade to the latest version.
There is no change required by the administrator after the update has succeeded. All necessary changes on the client and server are done automatically. For details, please refer to the following article.
