Renewed the APNS certificate, but didn't install it in the MDM before the expiration date. Can I install it now?

According to Mobile Control, our APNs certificate expired on May 16, 2018.

According to Apple, it was renewed on Feb 26, 2018.

It looks like it was never installed in the MDM, so it shows up as having expired, so we must have lost control of our devices. If I install the renewed certificate now (5 months later), will I seamlessly get control back, or do I have to re-enroll each device anyway? I'm going to have to install it no matter what, I just want to know what to expect afterwards.

Thank you!

  • I have uploaded a new APNS certificate after the expiration date.

As stated nothing works once it expires, but using the renew certificate on the Apple portal will allow you to carry on once you upload it. You shouldn't have to re-enroll each device.
