Still have Malware after Scan

Hi,  My Imac still seems infected with Malware after running scans with Malwarebytes first, then with Sophos Home. Both tell me my mac is clean.  The problem appears on many websites that are considered safe like Yelp or Meetup.  When the site is loading I can see other stuff loading in my bottom status bar not related to the site, and anything I click spawns two to three new windows.

I need help removing what is affecting my Mac.

    Hi Mitch,

    Hard to say without more details but sounds like your browser might be infected with some adware. I suggest first looking at any add-ins that might be installed and removing them, if that doesn't help a full uninstall and reinstall of the browser. 

    If you have a different browser installed you could check to see if it has the same problems, if not it helps confirm the other browser is infected and that is the problem.
