Remove corrupted files

I ran a scan using Sophos Home edition (free) and got three messages similar to this one, how do I remove the corrputed file on a mac or as it says it's corrupt is it harmless now?  2018-07-12 09:12:50 +0100 Issue: 'corrupted file' detected in '/private/var/db/systemstats/2DFCF1E8-A62B-49

Thanks

  • I don't think you need to remove those, the message about them being corrupt is just an alert to basically say "sorry we can't scan this file because it is corrupt" it doesn't mean the file is or ever was malicious.

Without knowing what the file is, I would suggest just ignoring it. If you don't believe it is being used by anything (which if it is corrupt then it wouldn't be) you could try just manually deleting it.
