Sophos Central Email Quarantine

Hi,

i'm thinking about to enable Quarantine Messages in Sophos Central Email, so that users can manage their Quarantine.

If i'am right, at email protection on appliances, user could not release quarantined mails that where recognized as malware or virus.

How is it in Sophos Central Mail. Would a user be able to release a virus or malware recognized mail which is in quarantine?

Thanks

Andreas

  •  Hi  ,

Thank you for posting into the Community.

In Sophos Email, a user would not be able to release quarantined emails that were detected as virus/malware BUT the Central administrator can.

Users can release quarantined emails through the Quarantine summary or Self Service Portal.

If you look into each policy settings, which ever feature that have the Action of Quarantine, and have a tick on "Include in End User Quarantine" will appear in the two above.

    Regards,

    Jose

  • Thanks for your anwser so user can only release SPAM or Bulk.

I will think about wether i want to offer the users the possibility to do so.

  •  the users can release more now. This is why I advised looking into the policy settings. If you see a feature that have the Action of Quarantine, and have a tick on "Include in End User Quarantine" this means that the email that got quarantined based on that feature WILL appear in the Quarantine summary email and in the user's Self Service Portal.
For example: Malicious URL scan. It can have this Quarantine action and the Include in End User Quarantine. This means that any email that got quarantined for the reason of Malicious URL can now also be released by the user (not just spam and bulk emails anymore).
