Valid sender email

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-microsoft-365-or-office-365

For Option 3, Microsoft "Any email address in one of your Microsoft 365 or Office 365 verified domains. This email address does not need a mailbox." - but it appears that Sophos insists that the sender address is valid when routing outgoing emails through Sophos.

Is there a way to turn this off? I can't find the setting anywhere.

  • You could simply exclude this sender from using CEMA via Connector.

In Central every Mailbox needs to be configured. But if you setup the mailbox not to be transfered to CEMA, it should be fine. This would mean, the mailbox is not scanned.
