Failed to install SED64,AMSI64: 80041f00,80041f00

After updating windows to the latest version which is 22H2, this error appear on certain device at the Sophos Central.

The error: -

"Failed to install SED64,AMSI64: 80041f00,80041f00"

  • When the OS version changes, SophosUpdate.exe runs all the setup plugins for each component to give the a chance to reconfigure themselves if needed due to the new OS version. This is why they are running.

    I would first check the SophosUpdate.log file, you should be able to find at the bottom the first update after the OS update, but each subsequent update attempt probably looks the same.  For each component, when the setup plugin runs it logs to \windows\temp\

    So check SophosUpdate.log (\programdata\sophos\autoaupdate\logs\) is there an associated log file for the component as it fails under \windows\temp\.  Can we see those.  There is a chance that it fails before it logs, so can you provide the SophosUpdate.log excerpt of an update? Thanks.
