Something that Ive noticed windows 11 devices come up as windows 10 on the devices listing
A number of places in the registry on a Windows 11 device will still reference Windows 10. For example:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Name: ProductName
I found that when you are looking at the devices list, you may see Windows 10 referenced, but when opening the concerned device entry, you will see Windows 11 shows on the left-hand pane.
It does not show Windows 11 on any of our devices and the registry key should not even matter as we have devices that have been installed with Windows 11 from scratch, so there should not be any reference to Windows 10.
Is there going to be an update anytime that fixes this?
We do have plans to update the way we identify the OS running on devices, however, we do not have an ETA on that yet.
Hi, any updates on that? I´m newbie and the error seems to still exist...
The fix will be applied with "Core Agent 2022.1.0.78". The Core Agent update has just gone out to our internal release group and will make its way onto customer environments in the next few weeks.
Update: This release will complete by June 15th
We are still experiencing this issue. Is there an update please?
Hi Corrin,
Allow me some time to test this and I will share an update on this thread.
When performing a clean installation on a Windows 11 device, I can confirm that the OS is reported back correctly. Let me know if you can verify the Core Agent version shown on your device.
I saw your post about Sophos Central showing Windows 10 on Windows 11 devices. That's definitely a weird issue. Have you tried looking for a solution on Reddit? I've found Reddit to be a treasure trove of info and helpful community members.I remember seeing a thread on Reddit about windows keys, and it could be worth checking out if you haven't already. Maybe someone has had a similar issue and found a fix. Just check out subs with Reddit windows keys. I always find some helpful tips there. People always post updates if they have discovered something new.
