PureMessage for Exchange Installation Issue

Hi,

I am having an issue installing PureMessage for Exchange version 3.1 in to an Exchange 2010 environment.

I am receiving the following error message at the start of the installation:

Setup encountered a problem while gathering system information.

Error Details: COM error code 0x80004005: Unspecified Error

It is a fresh installation of PureMessage.

I have enabled Network DTS and this has not helped.

I have attempted to use two accounts, both domain admin and one which is the account that was originally used to install Exchange.

I have found the below error in the debug files:

ERR: Failed '!bGetInfo || (dwRetCode != ERROR_SUCCESS)' : Win32 error 0x80004005

The Exchange server is a Hub Transport server.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Jeremy Parton

  • Hi Jeremy,

    I also faced same error wile installing PMX and could overcome by giving Domain Admin rights and Exchange server Rights. To give exchange permission use https://<IPof Exchangeserver>/ecp and you can give role base privileges to domain account.

    It was sufficient to give Server Management privileges in my setup.

    Try this with luck
