How can I tell how long it takes PureMessage to scan my Exchange 2007 Storage Groups?

I have a number of quite large Exchange 2007 Storage Groups, and I'm trying to understand how long it takes PureMessage to scan each Storage Group.  I've looked in the logs and can see that it's Starting and Stopping each evening and morning, but nothing that tells me how long it's taken to scan all messages in each of the Storage Groups.  Can anyone shed some light please?

  • Hi Sean,

Store scan is always a work in progress....it's not like a full scan where it starts and stops when it finishes scanning the last email...

    Check the options :

On-Access Scanning: automatically checks files when you read them,

Proactive scanning: checks new files as they arrive in the store,

Background scanning: periodically checks all items in the store (it scans items according to what you configure).

Even the background scanning, if you set it to run let's say from 8pm to 8am...it uses an algorithm and the scan is random and prioritized in a way that won't overload your store....

    Hope this helps!
