Certificate requirements

Question

Hi, 
 The requirements listed in https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/127562 say 
 
 SVM certificate signature algorithm is SHA256 or greater 
 
 Is this a hard requirement or just a recommendation? Our current CA will only use SHA1 and I wonder if this is responsible for an issue we are having when trying to deploy a SVE SVM.

Hello Adam Barnes 
 It is a hard requirement that the hashing algorithm must be SHA256 or greater. Using a lower level of security such as SHA1 for this would cause the installer to fail. 
 Have a look at this KBA we created https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/127562 you could create an alternative CA to generate the certificates which will have the required level of security.
