Macs showing up as duplicates and unmanaged in Unassigned folder

Hello,

We are running SEC v 5.2.2 on Windows Server 2008 R2. We have AD sync enabled and have been seeing a persistent issues with our Mac laptops specifically. Almost all of them are showing up with duplicates, one instance in the correct AD group and another instance in the Unassigned folder. The ones in the Unassigned folder show up as managed laptops while the majority of the ones in the correct groups show up as unmanaged. We've tried to remove duplicates using mySQL before but eventually once another sync happens the will reappear. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

  • Hello SadiAhmed,

I don't have any Macs in AD so this is just a guess. It might be that the OS values (Operating system and Service pack columns in SEC's Computer Details tab - for the managed ones - and those from the Operating System tab in AD's Computer Properties which you see for the unmanaged entry in the synced group)) don't match.
