Restart needed for updates to take effect

Hello to all

I wanted to ask: until when can the reboot of a device be delayed after the message "0000006d Restart needed for updates to take effect"? How long will the device be protected if I don't restart it?

thank you very much

ciao

  • Hello Franco ,

it will stay protected. The message tells you that there are (potentially) newer versions of certain elements that will only be in effect after a reboot. E.g. a DLL loaded into a service can only be replaced when the service is restarted.

as a further expansion on that note - we always suggest rebooting as quickly as possible.

If there is a critical update in the new version - you won't get that ability/fix until the reboot.

Scanning, however, should remain active the entire time and there should be no gap in protection.
