We are setting up websites to block in Website Management, there doesn't seem to be any consistency with the messages when trying to access.

There is a limitation in the product due the HTTPs Protocol. The Protocol is encrypted, therefore you cannot simply redirect to a block page. See: https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000035338…

There are some works to do, to get this feature working with HTTPs Pages to actually show a block page.
