Restart Needed for Updates to Take Effect

Hi ,

this morning , In the Enterprise Console  i have the following warning for more than 300 PCs :

0000006d Restart needed for updates to take effect .

- i don't know if it is an upgrade of Sophos Endpoint ?

- is there any other solution to force updates without rebooting the devices ?

Thanks .

  • Hello OlivierFernandes,

quite surprising that this time the 0x0000006d caused by the current update generates (well, lots of would be an exaggeration) queries about how to deal with the 0x0000006d.
It's a warning only, the update itself has been performed. The message states to take effect. An example is the Detours DLL - it's generally loaded but processes won't use the new version until they are restarted, and for system processes a reboot is required. Until then they will continue to work with the one already loaded.
