The Sophos enterprise console reporting tool needs to be made more user friendly and visually appealing.

Hi guys,

After having a look at the Sophos reporting tools, i was left disappointed with a couple of things.

1) The reporting tool looks from the windows 2000 era, it is not fresh and crisp as per today's standards

2) For many things we need to rely on Ctrl+C Ctrl+V, from the dashboard and then need to paste in excel manually. There is no button to export as pdf or excel.

For example, to get a list of all hosts with the latest connection time with server, i need to do the above steps and there is no option to manually schedule such report

3) There is just a handful ,around 7-8 types of reports and it is not user friendly at all. Why is there no executive summary/ executive report with all commonly helpful data?

Its time for the reporting tool to get an upgrade guys and I know i am not the only one who wants this.

this is true as far as I can tell. I don't think there will be improvements to SEC's Reports and reporting options anytime soon if at all. Different executives have different views of how their executive Anti-Virus report should look. Management is quite inventive when it comes to indicators, performance indices, charts, and their ilk. Don't forget auditors and last but not least support mangers and staff. There is no one size fits all set of simple reports. Developing a fully fledged reporting tool is probably neither economical nor reasonable (what? Yet another reporting tool? why can't they use XYZ?). Thus only minor changes have been made to the Report Manager, instead the Reporting Interface has been added (first as optional component, now an integral part).
