Configuring Child Update Manager

I have tried configuring a Child update on a virtual machine to simulate a remote site and the error shown is

"Migration failed"  and "software delivery failure" .

I'd like to redo this a fresh how to i do this.

    Migration failed

    we'd need at least some details here. What are the steps you have performed on the virtual machine? What does the migration report for this SUM say? And what is in View Update Manager Details for the failed software delivery?

    What was the source that you have for the child SUM? Could you navigate to that location from the server where the child SUM was installed? Have you checked the credentials used have access to the network location and that the proxy settings are there (if applicable)?  What error is listed in the Update Manager Details?
