Sophos Update Manager showing updating error-

Hello!

SEC 5.5 is not acting normally. On dashboard its showing that it was updated 3 weeks ago. Its stuck on Downloading binaries.

If I rename Working directory, new Working directory is created and downloaded. CIDs is also latest.

Also, if I try to change password (Source Details), timeout error is displayed (its asking if want to use it anyway).

I tried to

restart server,

stop / restart:

Sophos Message Router service

Sophos Certification Manager service

Sophos Agent Service

Sophos Update Manager service

Sophos Managment service

Any ideas?

Regards

  • Hello Miha,

normally one should start with the LogViewer and the SUMTrace logs to determine the cause [:)] - and then take proper action ... as you've already taken pot-shots at it I'll forget about the logs for now. Did you just rename \Working or \Warehouse as well or did you mean the latter?
You have still the correct credentials configured or at least thing so? Please stop the SUM service, then empty the \Warehouse, start the service. Does the folder get populated but eventually SUM seems to be stuck again? If there's no apparent progress please check the SUMTrace log.
If you are not sure about the credentials, restart the SUM service, the try to enter the credentials. When you get the timeout please check, guess, the SUMTrace log.
