Upgrade from Sec 5.3.1 to 5.5

Hi

I am a complete beginner with Sophos and have been tasked with updating the SEC from 5.3.1 to 5.5.0

When I run the installation I am presented with a message which prevents me proceeding

"Encryption is installed.  Please migrate any computers and uninstall it before continuing".

I followed the knowledgebase articles, which talk about an "encryption" tab under status.  I may be going blind, but I have meticulously gone through every field, dropdown menu and other to find where encryption is and I am now stuck.  Bottom line is, how do I proceed?  At this point, I have given up with the knowledgebase, so straight simple instructions would be very helpful.

Also, can I do this during the online day?

  • Hello Phil Gornall,

first of all, you can do it whenever you want. User's might notice download failures if the reboot takes longer than 10 minutes or so.

Dunno which article mentions the tab, it's probably referring to the Endpoints view in the console and telling you you should check whether you have encrypted endpoints. Well, you'll likely have heard.
The relevant article is How to remove Encryption, it doesn't get simpler as that.
