Error message "The device control service failed to stop."???

An error message with Code a0520001 and description "The device control service failed to stop (0x80070005)" is appearing for many of our systems.  A search of the knowledge base link recommends an update of the console's SAVRes.dll file and and upgrade to Sophos Enterprise consolve version 3.1 when available.

Only problem is we are using version 4.0.0.2362.

Does this error indicate a problem we need to be concerned about and are there steps to resolve this error for those systems?

    I have seen it once or twice. Do you have any idea when it occurs? If it's during shutdown I guess it can be ignored. Otherwise check whether Device Control is working as expected - if it is, then it's not of immediate concern but you should contact support anyway. They might ask you to run SDU so it does no harm to collect the logs before you call.
