Sophos stops itself

I run W7 Home Premium 64 bit as Administrator with Sophos Endpoint Security and Control as Sophos Administrator.

After a while (sometimes a week, sometimes three weeks, .......) Sophos stops running and when I try to update or

open Sophos it reports:

You  do not have sufficient privileges to run the Sophos Endpoint Security ans Data Control Application.

You are not a member of any of the Sophos groups. To launch this application you must be a member

of Sophos Administrator, Sophos Power User or Sophos User group.

The only thing left for me is to uninstall Sophos and then install it again!

Who knows what I have to do, to avoid having this problem?

Greeetings Peter.

  • I'm having the same issue on my server.  All my workstations are running and updating appropriately but not the server.  Running SBS 2003 and Sophos Control Center 4.0.0.2362.  This is also keeping my PureMessage from updating.  Anyone have any ideas?  TIA, Brian

  • I now know what went wrong.

The version I had installed is for PC's running in a company network.

But mine is a stand-alone one!

After installing the right version, I don't receive that annoying report anymore.

    Greetings Peter.:smileyhappy:
