Sophos Update Manager - WebCID based on Apache HTTPD instead of IIS?

I think the title pretty much says it all... Is it possible to set up a WebCID using Apache on Linux rather than IIS (and therefore Windows)?

if it *is* possible, is there any support/documentation on the process?

thanks

  • Hello lprikockis,

IIS is not required, you can use any decent web server, just publish the \SophosUpdate (or an equivalent) folder and serve the files as they are. Shouldn't be too hard if you have just a little bit more than zero knowledge of httpd (i.e. it hasn't been installed automatically as part of some other application - in which case it would not be possible to write an adequate guide).        You can either mount the \SophosUpdate share in Linux or let SUM write to a share hosted by the Linux box.
