Can't Install Sophos on XP Workstation - Failed to install SAVXP

Keep getting the error "Failed to install SAVXP: The MSI has failed".

Was able to install other MSI installer based programs on the machine with no problems.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same error keeps coming up in our logins and the user's laptop is currently unprotected.

Please advise.

    Hi,

    Check the SAV install log, should be c:\windows\temp

    Sophos Anti-Virus install log*

    Search for value 3

    just above that is where it is failing, look for a function or customaction it was doing and try searching on that.

    Or log a case with support and send them the log :)
