strange occurance

I am currently using Enterprise Console 4 and something strange is happening. Almost all machines are reporting back to the console correctly. I got one Windows XP sp3 no firewall.  It is like is not reporting status back.

I have restarted all the services and nothing has changed. Any ideas?

It is very strange I got other xp machines and all report.

Thank you for the help,

Edsel

  • It usually happens when Sophos Remote Management System (RMS) component on workstation can not communicate with RMS on Sophos Enterprise Console server.

There may be couple sources of this trouble:

    ************************************************

    a) Does on this workstation exist (and is active) Windows Client Firewall (or any other Firewall client). If so on workstation You need to open/enable needed Sophos ports (TCP ports 8192, 8193 and 8194) and enable File and Print sharing on it. Sometimes it is also needed to stop Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), and restart Sophos Services

    b) Simple File Sharing - Is it enabled on workstation? If it is enabled¸, disable it and restart workstation.

    c) Is RMS component on workstation installed (see list of installed programs) and active (See RMS service)? If no - reinstall SAV.

    d) Is clock on this workstation synchronized with domain NTP server? If no - synchronize it and restart Sophos Services on workstation.
