Client Update / Upgrade 9.0 - 9.5 failing

There are several variants to how this shows on the Console.  Some show as connected computers and OS with no details.  Some  have the OS  with the old version of software or the new and nothing else.

Looking at the logs it will say the Installation of Sophos SAVXP skipped repeatedly.  Some will also have the Installation of RMSNT skipped repeatedly as well.

After attempting to un-install the old version to get a clean start I found the source of my problem.  It appears on some of our custom builds the original MSIs are missing preventing the removal of the original software to allow the install of the new.

Is there an alternative way to uninstall the software when the MSIs are missing in action?  Or is there a place to download the older MSIs to share out for manual uninstalls on these custom builds?

  • Looks like I might have my solution.  I downloaded the legacy enpoint solutions.  Extracted by running command line with "-?" at the end.  It allows me to choose where to dump the files.  Moved them to a share then cancelled the install.

I'll report back if this allow the manual uninstall of the the old AV.
