Could not contact Server

Hello,

I am building a new server, and have installed the same version of Sophos that was installed a few years back.  I need this version as we have a JNI (java - C++) interface that talks to Sophos, and I dont want to create a new version.

The installed version of 6.0.0.  On my older server the product version has been updated to 7.6.16 over the years.

When I try to update the Sophos version 6.0.0 , I get "Could not contact Server"

The logs show:

Both servers are located in the same datacenter.  Any ideas?

    I don't think that installing 6.0.0 is a good idea (did you keep it or did you get it from Sophos)?

    On my older server the product version has been updated to 7.6.16 over the years

    So are you saying the JNI interface works with 7.6.16? If so - why not install this one?

    And - there's article 28841 which has been written for XP SP2 but I think it more or less applies.

    I have just test version 9 locally, and after disabling UAC on Windows 7, my java/C++ JNI code could talk to the sophos :)

    So I am going to install version 9 on new Windows 2003 server and see how that goes.

    Besides that Sophos doesn't provide updated IDEs fro versions older than 3 months ;)
