We are supporting users in a domain environment and are beginning to deploy SafeGuard but are in the early stages of understanding its functionality.
My impression is that when users have SafeGuard installed, they are able to connect removable media to the PC and 2 things will happen
1. The removable media will encrypt automatically
2. A 'unencrypted' folder will be created
I am working with a couple users who are not able to store items in the encrypted part of the flash drive, even though it is connected to the PC which has the Safeguard installation. Secondly, when they connect the flash drive to another PC (like their home computer, which does not have SG installed) they are not receiving the automatic password prompt to authenticate to the drive.
Is the only fix removing the encryption from the USB device and then reconnecting it and forcing the encryption to take place?
What determines if users receive the password prompt when accessing the USB drive from antoher PC? Is it a failed install or did the user miss a step somewhere?
Thanks!
