Failure while checking update packages against manifest

I get the error message in the title on one PC whenever I try and run the installer for first time from Enterprise Console.  All 100+ other systems working fine.  If I try and browse to the installation directory and install from setup.exe, I get the following error  "Invalid Manifest file: [VE_BADCERT]: 7"

I've checked that time/date is in sync and everything else seems fine.

Can anybody help?

    just to be on the safe side - which Sophos version is hosted in the CID you are trying to install from? (Make sure it's the latest one or at least a version not older than February 2009).

    Are all the other clients also getting updates using this CID or are they using another source.

    Next point is - are you able to install SAV on another system calling the setup.exe from this CID or do you get the same error then?

    Maybe you should again check the date on your client (i think most important is the year) and you may also check if the Cryptography service is running on your client (if that's the case the error should look a little bit different but you never know :-) )
