Sophos Standalone (No network)

Is there any way that we can run Sophos Antivirus on standalone non-networked non-internet computers. Ideally I could update the definitions to each PC daily or when required but don't see a way of doing this.

  • To install:

If you didn't configure the CID (added sauconf.xml) it contains no updating policy - so simply copy it to a USB stick or whatever (make sure no update is in progress) and install from there. Turn off automatic updates.

    To update:

Update the copy on the stick (perhaps using some synchronizing tool), plug it into the PC and click Update now.

I would try the following: install an additional SUM somewhere (a fairly recent PC should do), create a schedule to update once a day. Insert the stick, create a share on the stick, add a distribution share in the Update Manager to point to this share.
