root kit scan result

hello I just completed a sophos rootkit scan and included was an entry as follows; c:WINDOWS\gmer.exe can anybody explain this to me? Also it suggested not to remove it. Thank You

Hi Billy,
GMER is another rootkit scanner, which is dropped and used by other utilities.
To be sure, can you submit a sample of the file %temp%\samples.sar to the labs:
www.sophos.com/support/samples
