Right Click Scan Option Missing

I have right-click scanning enabled, but after a recent Windows update, I no longer see the option to scan files with Sophos when I right click. How can I restore this option in Windows Explorer?

  • I assume it's a 64-bit computer?

    Can you try:

    1. Open an admin command prompt.

    2. Change directory to C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\ e.g.

    CD C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\

    3. Run the command (all one line):
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\\NATIVE.EXE" 37 REGSVR32.EXE /s "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\\SavShellExtX64.dll"

    Does that add it back

  • All as one line? You have two lines there, each in quotes. I'm getting the error: "'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command.

Can you please provide what you have above again - but without the quotes?  In other words show it EXACTLY as I would type it at the command prompt?  Thanks !

  • I still get:

"'"C:/Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\Native.EXE"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

I also don't see 'NATIVE.EXE' in the directory specified. It's all just .dll files.
